www.mccuesmercantile.com is honored to give you the pictures and story behind these poor guinea pigs that went through so much before being rescued by the wonderful people at the SPCA and then Have a Heart Guinea Pig Rescue. Please take a moment to check out www.mccuesmercantile.com
Have a Heart Guinea Pig Rescue is in desperate need of fosters families for healthy guinea pigs. We are looking for people to foster healthy pigs so that we can allow as much room as we can for the foster families that know how to care for the 101 sick, pregnant and mutilated piggies that made it out of there. Please email Here if you are in NJ or Here if you are in PA if you can help foster a healthy piggie.
If you decide that you can foster, we will give you the following:
If you would like to adopt a guinea pig from Have a Heart Guinea Pig Rescue, please visit our site to pick your new pet!
The pictures below don't even begin to show the filth and disgust that was this person's barn. If it was not for the angels at the ASPCA, which I have personally met, these guinea pigs would have kept reproducing, getting sick, fighting and dying without anyone knowing about them. Can you imagine living in this? Please note that these pictures are VERY graphic. If you are young or have a weak stomach, do not look any further. When the ASPCA went in to investigate this, they looked into the shed where the owner said he was selling the guinea pigs for HUMAN CONSUMPTION for 10 cents a piece. They thought there were approximately 60-70 guinea pigs. When they went in on August 2, 2006 they found more than 100. This was after Have a Heart came to pick up the first 22. On August 5th we were able to bring in another 34 into the rescue! Thank you all who have inquired about the piggies, come to foster healthy piggies, and made donations. We are still in need of foster homes, please click on one of the links above if you can foster or adopt!

A Note to the ASPCA, especially Liz and Maureen: Thank you so much too all of you who were in this place. I am so incredibly sorry that you had to suffer through getting stuck in this place and doing things that no one should. If it weren't for your caring, I don't know what kind of situation they would have had to live, suffer and die in. We here at Have A Heart Guinea Pig Rescue all appreciate your work and everything you do to save all animals. - Ingrid, volunteer for Have A Heart Guinea Pig Rescue.
